Is There a Cat Food Consultant Website?

Dog Food Advisor has grown over the years to become a large website that millions of dog owners visit to learn more about their dog’s diet and other possible dog food recipes.

However, many of these dog owners are also cat owners, and they often wonder if Dog Food Advisor has a sister website, which you can see in the picture called Cat Food Advisor.

Is There a Cat Food Consultant Website?

Technically, there is a website called CatFoodAdvisor.com, and this website appears to be operated by the same company as DogFoodAdivsor.com.

Unfortunately, the website has not been updated, and if you visit the homepage, you will see a short sentence that says the site is coming soon.

Out of curiosity, we used the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine to see how long the website has been around.

The first time we saw the standard Dog Food Advisor style on the website was back in May 2013. Later in 2014, the phrase “Site Coming Soon” was added.

However, despite the last ten years, the statement coming soon may be premature, and the website has not undergone significant changes since then; allow anyone any detailed reviews like those found in Dog Food Advisor.

But this may change in the near future. Many are familiar with the original owner of Dog Food Advisor, Dr. Mike Sagman, who worked as a dentist when he wasn’t writing dog food reviews.

However, in January 2023, Dog Food Advisor was purchased by Wag! Group Co for a whopping $9 million.

Although nothing has been done yet, this new ownership of the original site may soon expand and begin building a Cat Food Advisor site.

Alternative Cat Food Review Websites

However, for those of you disappointed by the lack of a Cat Food Advisor website, fear not, as there are several other sites dedicated to cat food reviews that you can rely on.

The PetFoodReviewer

Although we will try to keep our marketing to a minimum, our site, The Pet Food Reviewer, has been reviewing pet food brands for over five years and aims to provide unbiased information and recommendations.

We try to provide a complete picture of the types of pet food, including information about product history and ownership, product range, ingredients, nutrition, animal testing, you rememberand more.

CatFoodDB.com is an established cat food review website that has been around for several years and can often be found in a google search.

They take a different approach than many other cat food review websites, including ours, and provide easy-to-understand reviews, including paw-to-mouth measurements of ingredients and food.

You can see a brand-level page with a high-level overview of all their recipes or recipe-specific pages detailing why the recipe received the thumbs-up rating it did.

This includes discussions of individual ingredients and illustrated depictions of their nutritional value.

One of the most important advantages of CatFoodDB is the number of products they review (currently 150+), which allows most cat owners to learn relevant information about their cat’s current diet.

However, CatFoodDB does not include other non-ingredient or food-based information that most cat owners are interested in learning about, such as past cat food memories or where their food or ingredients are sourced.

PetFoodReviews (Australia)

While you might think that an Australian website might not be useful for pet owners outside of Australia, you shouldn’t rush to judgement.

PetFoodReviews.com.au is the most popular cat food review website, receiving hundreds of thousands of views a year from readers around the world.

They review international cat food brands that many will recognize, such as Hill’s Science Diet, Kirkland, Royal Canin, Purina Pro Plan, Orijen, and Taste of the Wild.

But for their home audience, they also review Australian cat food brands like Black Hawk, Ivory Coat, Vetalogica, and more.

Their reviews are simple and easy to follow, discussing ingredients, nutrition, and you remember. Their reviews also allow comments that allow pet owners to provide their feedback for others to read.

SprucePets

Many of you will be familiar with The Spruce, which is one of the largest online review and information websites.

They cover everything from growing plant species, recommendations on the best washing machines, and descriptions of different types of bathroom appliances.

However, they do have a dedicated pet-themed website called TheSprucePets.com. Although pet food is not the only topic on this site, there are many topics related to pet food, including those that discuss cat food and topics related to cat food.

Some of their cat food articles are vet reviewed giving them an edge over others in terms of reliability.

However, if the site isn’t focused solely on cat food, it can be difficult to navigate if you don’t land on the page you’re looking for directly from a google search.

They also don’t have the in-depth brand reviews or recipes that other sites offer.
